With the launch of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge on Nov. 10 during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, a wide-ranging network of globalevents industry players has united to fight climate change with the ultimate goal of eliminating the industry’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Lopez and UN staff created a three-week-long virtual event held last spring, stripped of the social and networkingevents that usually accompany the conference and focused on moving negotiations forward. It’s appropriate that, at one of the world’s most significant globalevents, the meetings industry would have a voice.
The globalevent, which convenes over 3,000 attendees to advance hydrogen’s role in the future energy mix, has also announced the confirmed support and participation from the Australia Trade and Investment Commission and the New South Wales (NSW) Government.
