Pay-at-risk pay is also called variable pay ; the model connects employee pay to the financial health of the company, paying out more when the company is doing well and less when the company is struggling. Across the country, up to 90 percent of companies are using some form of pay-at-risk compensation plan. The intention is usually to offer an incentive: if employees work harder, the company does better, and everyone makes more money.
Should meetings be efficient ? “Yes” say thousands of books on how to improve business meetings. And I agree. But “No”, when we’re taking about most meeting industry events. Unfortunately, the meeting industry tends to assume that if business meetings should be efficient, meeting industry events should be too. A planner's best tactic to get speaker ideas might just be reaching out to colleagues and contacts. In a survey released this year by Jay Baer, SpeakInc, and Michelle Joyce Speakers, planners were asked how they chose speakers. Planners said word of mouth was key.
