Plenty of things about planning a virtual event cause stress and confusion. But perhaps none other brings as many questions as the infamous choice of platform. In a matter of months, this particular industry segment witnessed an extraordinary boom. And as virtual events kept evolving, planners were bombarded with dozens of features and opportunities from platforms swearing they were the next big thing.
The hospitality industry has taken quite a beating in the past few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that things are starting to return to some semblance of normalcy, what will the new post-pandemic normal look like for hotels? In part two of the “How Things Are Likely to Be Post-Pandemic”, let’s discuss this in relation to the non-business event industry.
At the beginning of October, I visited Pentahotel Leipzig. The hotel is part of the Penta Group , which has 27 hotels in Europe and Asia (Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Russia), with further expansions planned in the next 2–3 years. The history of Penta Hotels goes back to 1971 when it was founded as a joint venture of five airlines, providing accommodation for crew members to stay when on duty.
